The Government of Nepal has appointed Mr. Padam Hamal, Executive Chairperson of NEO-Nepal, as the Expert Member of Climate Change Council under the Chairmanship of Right Honourable Prime Minister of Nepal. The council is the high-level coordination body for climate change initiatives in Nepal. Congratulation to Mr. Hamal! More information about the council can be found here


Participation in the meetings

25 participants from NEO Nepal had participated the UN Climate Change Conference (COP18) in Doha, Qatar. More information about the conference can be found here

1 participant from NEO Nepal had participated the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP11) in Hyderabad, India. More information about the convention can be found here

3 participants from NEO Nepal had participated the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. More information about the conference can be found here

The participants include representative of NEO Nepal, government, NGOs and other national and international partners of NEO Nepal.

Mr. Padam Hamal, Executive Chairperson of NEO-Nepal has been selected as the Non-Profit Civil Society Observers to the Climate Investment Fund (CIF) for Scaling-Up Renewable Energy Program (SREP) Asia/Pacific seat. Congratulation to Mr. Hamal!

The Climate Investmend Funds are a pair of funds to help developing countries pilot low-emmissions and climate-resilient development. The CIF are channeled through the African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Inter-American Development Bank, and World Bank Group.
